At Windridge Farm we fulfill the training needs of our riders by providing a goal oriented lesson program taught by expierenced professionals. We welcome, and are qualified to train, riders at all levels  from beginner through Grand Prix.  At Windridge Farm we are absolutley committed to the success of our clients, be it in the show ring or just meeting your  week to week goals. Taylor McMurtry- Head Trainer

 

Taylor McMurtry began riding and competing at age 8. Advancing through the ranks at lightning speed she competed in her first Grand Prixs at 13 years old in Wellington, FL. Taylor has won numerous Gand Prix classes and placed in more than 30 Grand Prix competitions $25K and over.  Taylor has three times qualified for and competed in the Pfizer Million Dollar Grand Prix in Saugerties, NY, twice as a Junior rider. Taylor, at the time, was the youngest to have ever been invited to the $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational in Tampa, FL.  Taylor was also invited to and competed in the New Albany Classic Invitational. Taylor has also competed in many World Cup and FEI CSI 3* level competitions. As a junior rider,Taylor was part of the Silver medal team at NAYRC (National American Young Riders Championship). 

 

Taylor has trained under and worked for world-class jumper professionals such as: Chris Kappler (Olympic Silver Medalist), Peter Leone (Olympic Silver Medalist), Norman Dello Joio (Olympic Bronze Medalist), Aaron Vale (winner of over $3 million in jumper prize money), Alex Jayne (Top Hunter Jumper trainer) and Todd Minikus (Olympic Team alternate). Having trained riders ranging from beginner show jumpers to Maclay finalists, Taylor delivers training appropriate for the individual’s needs and her style is relaxed and patient.

 

  Jennifer McMurtry- Manager

Jennifer brings both business experience and equine management experience to the WF management team.  As a rider and competitor, Jennifer has competed in events throughout the mid-west, Florida and Texas.  Jennifer is a career business women having experience in varied industries such as: real estate sales and marketing, mortgage underwriting and finance, accounting, event planning and stable management. Jennifer has worked for large organizations and closely held companies.  As farm manager her experience includes daily health care, fitness, nutrition, record keeping, and logistics for numerous competitive horses. Jennifer’s extensive knowledge in equine care and nutrition is the culmination of a decade of partnerships with equine professionals (vets, farriers, dentists) and real world experience.  Jennifer believes continuing education is a requirement to provide best-in-class care.  She  has attended professional seminars in parasite control, feed and nutrition, breeding, hoof management, stable management and many more.  Most importantly, Jennifer has built relationships with an extended team of equine professionals making her breadth of knowledge and experience exponentially greater than her’s alone.
